I put this collection of running training resources together ahead of the Eastleigh 10k Race. I need to get fit enough to run a continuous 10K fast. (Five of us from work are running to raise funds for Cancer Research, feel free to sponsor us using the Just Giving widget at the bottom of the page). In addition to the running training, I'm also dieting using information from the Low Carb Diet page.

Runners World guide to the perfect 10K Runners World's "The Perfect 10K" article covers varying traing needs, from an emergency plan through to a full 8 week training schedule. There's a list of common 10K run problems, with some great solutions. There's also a full Q and A section.

Use the Google Map to draw your own route or find one someone else created. A perfect complement to your jogging or running training program. This is a fantastic concept which will benefit every using walking, jogging or running for improving fitness.
BUPA beginners guide to running a 10Km race TheBUPA Beginner's training section: 10km run programme is designed for a complete novice who wishes to get ready for their first 10km run. This programme looks to build up gently. It will treat the 10km run as a long-distance run and will build the body up for this challenge by keeping the work light and moderate.
Coolrunning's 10Km Training Programme Cool Running's programs for the 10K are designed to develop endurance without neglecting those fast-twitch muscles. By following one of these schedules, you will develop gradually through four training phases. Each program includes a schedule for a "pre-training week" to help you gauge your fitness.
The Tamar Trotters 10Km Training Program. The Tamar Trotters' 10K Training Schedule is an excellent framework for those embarking on their first 10k. The Tamar Trotters running club are based at Saltash in Cornwall. This program is designed to take you to 10Km is 5 weeks, but assumes you've completed the 5k program.

The B&Q Eastleigh 10Km Run The Eastleigh 10Km Run sponsored by B&Q. On Sunday March 28th 2010, the Eastleigh 10K will once more host the Hampshire County 10K Championships. This year thanks to new technology over 1500 participants can enjoy the event.
